SIBE 2013

DSC_0159The SIBE (International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure and Built Environment) international conference and seminar activity were successfully held by FTSL ITB on 19 – 20 November 2013 with participants from Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, China, etc. The series of conference activities continued with the KNPTS seminar (National Conference of Post Graduate Civil Engineering) and an international seminar between FTSL ITB and GIFU University which was held on November 21, 2013.

Infrastructure is a basic human need, and a sustainable infrastructure system is essential for the survival, health, and well-being of people. Engineers in civil, environmental, and marine engineering are looking for ways to improve capabilities through proven infrastructure modernization for shelter, water, and transportation. Based on these statements, the second SIBE was held on 19 – 20 November 2013, which took place in the West Hall of ITB.

The SIBE Seminar event aims to exchange ideas and information between academics, researchers, consultants, engineers, manufacturers, and postgraduate scholars in the field of civil and environmental engineering. In addition to that, it discusses and evaluates the latest approaches, innovative technologies, policies, and new directions in infrastructure development, pollution prevention, and environmentally friendly technologies adapted to developing countries, as well as increasing collaboration between practitioners and researchers involved in dealing with infrastructure and the environment.

The event was opened by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D., which was preceded by a report from the chairman of the SIBE Committee, Prof. Dr. Rizal Z. Tamin, and the speech from the Dean of FTSL Prof. Suprihanto Notodarmojo, Ph.D.DSC_01371

The first day’s presentation started by the Minister of Public Works, Ir. Djoko Kirmanto as a Keynote Speaker, and continued with the first Keynote Lecture Presentation by Deputy Minister of Transportation Dr. Ir. Bambang Susantono, MSCE. , MCP . and from Hokkaido Univ Prof. Tamon Ueda who explained about Strengthening Design Approaches for Sustainable Structures, moderated by Prof. Ade Sjafruddin, Ph.D.

The second Keynote Lecture presentation moderated by Ir. Krisnaldi Idris, Ph.D. is Deputy Minister of Public Works, Dr. Ir. Achmad Hermanto Dardak, NTU Univ. Prof. Shyh-Jian Hwang.

The second Keynote Lecture presentation moderated by Prof. Enri Damanhuri, Ph.D. is Deputy for Infrastructure – BAPPENAS Dr. Ir. Dedy Supriadi Priatna, M.Sc. Deputy for Infrastructure Coord of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Dr. Ir. Lucky eco Wuryanto. , M.Sc.
